PlateScan Terms of Service

These app-specific terms (“App Terms”) govern use of PlateScan, the early-access Android app listed on Google Play as ASL Plate Scan: it reads the license plates in a photo you send and asks whether each read is right, so your answers can improve the reader.

Relationship to the Master Terms

These App Terms supplement and are incorporated into the Auto Secure Login Master Terms of Service. Both documents apply. If they conflict, these App Terms control only for PlateScan and the conflicting subject.

PlateScan-specific conditions

• You must be 18 or older to use PlateScan.
• Send only photos of plates that are yours or that you have the right to share. Other plates in the same photo are read and kept with it.
• You accept these App Terms with the checkbox shown when you first open the app. Accepting them is the condition of using PlateScan; if you do not accept them, you cannot use the app.
• By accepting, you agree that every photo you send, its plate crops, the country, state and vehicle details you give for it and your answers are kept and used by Auto Secure Login to train and improve its plate reader, and you grant Auto Secure Login a worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, copy and use them for that purpose. This is part of the service, not a separate or optional choice. Deleting a submission by its id removes the kept photo, crops and answers and takes them out of every future training batch; a reader version already trained on an earlier batch cannot un-learn a single photo.
• A read is something to check, never a verdict. Do not rely on a result to identify, locate, follow or take action against any person or vehicle.
• Do not use the app while driving.
• Keep a submission's id if you may want to delete it later; without the id we cannot tell which submission is yours.

Authorized use and information

You must use the application only in a lawful and authorized manner. You are responsible for the accuracy, permissions, consent, and legality of information you enter and for reviewing outputs before relying on or sharing them.

Availability and early access

PlateScan is offered as Early access. It may change, contain errors, or stop without notice, and we do not promise that a feature, a result, or the service will remain available.

Privacy, communications, and contact

The PlateScan privacy notice and the Privacy Policy explain information handling. PlateScan sends no text messages, emails or push notifications. Review the product page or use the contact form with questions.
