The authoritative record is free — but nobody makes it usable.
The federal NPPES registry is the official source of truth for every U.S. provider's NPI, address, and specialty. But its own search is clunky, English-only, and "reverse lookup" sites wrap that free public data in upsells and pretend an NPI is a background check.
