Research, documents, and answers — for people inside.
Outside Access is a research-and-action service for incarcerated residents. Someone inside sends a plain-text request through the messaging account they already have; Outside Access researches, drafts, and generates documents or images with AI, then sends the answer back the same way. A family sponsor on the outside pays for it and manages the account.
The problem
Information is a lifeline that rarely reaches inside.
People inside have limited, expensive, tightly-controlled communication and almost no way to research a legal question, draft a document, or get a straight answer. Their families want to help but have no safe channel to do it through.
Outside Access meets people exactly where they already are — their authorized messaging account — and does the research and drafting for them, with an outside sponsor footing the bill.
Safety, by design
- No CAPTCHA or MFA bypass, ever
- No scraping of private accounts
- No automatic court filing
- Every outside recipient must be verified
- Uncertain sends stop rather than duplicate
Capabilities
An outside researcher, on the inside's terms.
Request by text
A resident sends a plain-text request over their authorized messaging account — no app or special access required on the inside.
AI research & drafting
Research, classification, drafting, and document or image generation — returned as text and images the messaging channel can carry.
Message-safe splitting
A 45,000-character answer is normalized and chunked into labeled parts under the channel's safe limit, breaking on clean boundaries.
Rich output for the outside
Verified outside recipients can additionally receive PDF, DOCX, HTML, TXT, JPEG, email, or SMS.
Public social reader
Reads public posts only from X, Bluesky, YouTube, and arbitrary URLs, with bounded image capture and content hashing.
Honest metered billing
Stamp-based billing mirrored to the messaging provider's real cost model, with monthly allowances and atomic usage accounting.
Sponsor accounts
Activation, authentication, a management dashboard, and Stripe subscriptions with idempotent webhooks and a customer portal.
Fail-closed device bridge
An HMAC-signed heartbeat/lease/ingest/send contract with nonce replay protection and an observer-only mode gate.
Native companion
A native Android app with a live health check and a strict HTTPS destination allowlist that rejects lookalike hosts and odd ports.
Who it's for
A high-trust service for an overlooked need.
People inside
Anyone who needs information, document help, or coordination — reachable through the channel they already have.
Family sponsors
A parent, partner, or friend on the outside who pays the subscription and manages the account with an honest, transparent cost model.
Bring the outside in — safely.
Research, documents, and answers delivered through the channel that already reaches inside, paid by a sponsor who cares.
