WIC Login: How to Sign In to Your eWIC Account and Check Benefits

Looking for your WIC login? There is no single national account: each state or tribal WIC agency runs its own eWIC system. Here is how to find yours, what you need to sign in, and what to do if your PIN or account is not working.

Why there is no single WIC login

WIC provides healthy foods, nutrition education and breastfeeding support for pregnant women, new mothers, infants and children under 5. The benefits are issued by state and tribal WIC agencies, and each one picks its own eWIC card system, cardholder website and shopping app. A login that works in one state will not work in another, which is why a search for "WIC login" turns up so many different pages.

Many states do not use a website account at all. You may check benefits through the agency's approved shopping or balance app, the phone number on the back of your eWIC card, or your last store receipt, and the card PIN is what protects your benefits at checkout. Start from your own agency's instructions, not another state's.

What you need to sign in

  • Your eWIC card number.
  • Your card PIN, if the app or phone line asks for it.
  • Sometimes the date of birth or ZIP code on your WIC record.
  • The email address or phone number you used to set up an app account, if your agency's app uses one.

How to sign in to your eWIC account, step by step

  1. Find your WIC agency. Use USDA's WIC state agency locator, or the contact details on your appointment papers or card mailer.
  2. Check which method your agency uses: a cardholder website, a state-approved app, the card phone line, or a mix.
  3. Open the website or app from the agency's own page rather than from a search ad or a link in a text message.
  4. Register your card if an account is required: enter the card number and the details that match your WIC record, carefully, because repeated wrong entries can lock the account.
  5. Sign in and open the benefits or balance section to see food categories, amounts left and the dates your benefits start and end.
  6. Check again after shopping, so you can spot an item that did not go through as expected and ask your clinic about it.

Whether you are in Colorado, Georgia, Oklahoma or anywhere else, the rule is the same: your card only works with the system your own agency names. Colorado families, for example, are pointed to the state's WICShopper app on the Colorado WIC site.

Forgot your WIC PIN?

Use the reset option your agency provides: the card support number on the back of your eWIC card, a PIN reset in the approved app or cardholder site, or your local WIC clinic. You will usually be asked for details that match your record, such as the card number, date of birth or ZIP code.

A card PIN and an app password are different things, so changing one may not change the other. If your card locks after too many wrong PIN attempts, follow the card support instructions; some systems unlock after a waiting period and others need a reset. Never send your PIN by text, email or social media, or give it to someone who contacts you first.

Check your balance without logging in

You do not always need to sign in. The receipt from your last WIC purchase usually lists what is left, the phone number on your card can read the balance after you enter your card details, and many stores can print a balance at the register or service desk before you shop. Our WIC balance guide covers each option in detail.

Spot fake WIC login sites and scam texts

Fake login pages and texts that say your benefits will be cancelled unless you act now try to collect card numbers and PINs. USDA's eWIC card security page explains how agencies protect cards; on your side:

  • Reach the login only from your agency's website or the app it names.
  • Never enter your PIN on a page you reached from an unexpected text or email.
  • Do not share your card number or PIN with anyone who calls or messages you first.
  • Be wary of any page that asks for a payment to use WIC benefits; WIC benefits are free.
  • Call your WIC clinic if a message feels urgent or strange.

Our guide to scam text messages shows the common patterns and how to report them.

WIC login not working? Common fixes

  • Wrong system: make sure you are on the site or app your own state or tribal agency names.
  • Typing errors: re-check the card number, date of birth and ZIP code.
  • A new or replacement card, or a move: your agency may need to update your record first.
  • App problems: update the app, restart your phone and check your connection; meanwhile use your receipt or the card phone number.
  • Still stuck: contact your WIC clinic instead of guessing repeatedly, which can lock the account.

Where WIC Companion fits

WIC Companion is a free shopping planner from Auto Secure Login, not a WIC login. Its own sign-in uses an email address and password, and it has no connection to your eWIC card, so never type your card number or PIN into it. It is not a government app and is not affiliated with USDA or any state WIC agency.

What it does: you choose your state and the benefit categories you have left, and it builds a shopping list from the state's approved foods, currently for California, Colorado and New York, in English or Spanish. It can remind you by email three days before a category you recorded expires.

Frequently asked questions

Is there one national WIC login?

No. Each state or tribal WIC agency runs its own eWIC system, so the login, app and card support number depend on where your benefits are issued.

How do I log in to my eWIC account?

Find your state or tribal WIC agency, open the cardholder website or approved app from its own page, register your eWIC card if needed, then sign in with the details it asks for, such as your card number and PIN.

What do I do if I forgot my WIC PIN?

Call the card support number on the back of your eWIC card, use the PIN reset in your agency's approved app or site, or ask your WIC clinic. Never share your PIN with anyone who contacts you first.

Can I check my WIC balance without logging in?

Yes. Your last WIC receipt usually lists what is left, the phone number on your card can read your balance, and many stores can print a balance before you shop.

Is WIC Companion the official WIC app?

No. WIC Companion is an independent shopping planner. It has its own email sign-in, does not connect to your eWIC card and never needs your card number or PIN.
