Bars or Badge: a larger cast with clothing that belongs to each role

Character work expanded the people drawn in the world and corrected clothing, body and role-specific appearance problems.

Work covered: Sep 25, 2026 – Oct 1, 2026

Repeated faces make a large world feel small

The September cast work expanded the people available to the 3D world and prevented a scene from casting the same person twice. It also brought people from outside the institution into the relevant rooms. That matters because a visitor, contractor, officer and resident should be recognizable as different roles within the setting.

Clothing has to fit a moving body

Civilian outfits and institutional clothing were checked on the bodies that actually use them. Corrections addressed elbows, waist shapes, fabric ripples and hidden-surface defects that could escape a static preview. Eating and sitting poses exposed problems that a standing character could conceal, so the review included the character in activity rather than treating the model as a display statue.

Keep role details consistent

The work corrected role-specific details such as badges and inappropriate effects appearing on officers. Hair and facial-hair generation received additional passes, including the way hair sat against the face and head. The aim was a varied cast whose appearance remained internally consistent, not a collection of identical figures with different labels.

An ongoing visual-development effort

The period includes full cast rebuilds and recorded visual checks, followed by further animation and injury work in October. Those later tasks have their own articles because a rebuilt cast is not the same milestone as finished combat motion. This update establishes broader visual variety and better-fitting role appearance while acknowledging that character presentation continued to evolve.
