Bars or Badge: give crowds enough room to sit, move and respond

Placement work checks the bodies and motions actually used in a crowded room, including seating and incident-response orders.

Work covered: Oct 5, 2026 – Oct 7, 2026

A free floor point is not always enough space

Putting two characters at different coordinates does not guarantee that their bodies or gestures stay apart. October’s room-placement work measured the space used by the actual people and their movement. That includes a person already occupying a spot, someone approaching a seat and the reach of an activity performed there.

Check neighbors as they really move

Four characters sitting at a round table exposed an important testing detail: each activity loop runs at its own offset. Checking every diner at the same animation moment could miss a collision that occurs during actual play. The seated review was updated to use the relationship between the loops that the game really plays.

Make room-wide orders visible

Incident-response checks exercised people moving to seats or returning to cells. The expected result includes reaching the intended place and keeping bystanders clear of one another throughout the response. That connects an institutional order to a visible crowd action rather than stopping at a message that says the order was given.

Development acceptance remains specific

The recorded batches passed particular placement, crowd and restart checks while separate combat-contact problems continued to be investigated. Those are different acceptance areas. This milestone improves the everyday and incident-related use of room space, with the test conditions brought closer to the bodies and timing that appear in the real client.
