Bars or Badge: a fight becomes an incident the whole room responds to

The incident system connects rounds, allies, staff response and consequences instead of treating combat as an isolated exchange.

Work covered: Oct 5, 2026 – Oct 7, 2026

The room should not ignore a fight

The October incident work expanded combat from an exchange between two characters into an event with a beginning, progression and response. The game tracks rounds, who joins and how staff intervene. The player’s own fight and fights elsewhere in the room can therefore use the same incident concept instead of following unrelated scripts.

Participation has a reason

The implementation connected ally rules with decisions about joining a fight and developed the staff response as part of the event. Consequences from attacking an officer were connected back to the career. The work also carried the incident into the online 3D client, so the client could play what the game had resolved rather than reconstructing its own version.

Rules and presentation are separate jobs

The same period added response equipment, sound tied to the rounds and paired motion. Those pieces need to agree, but finishing the event rules does not finish every pose or contact. The development record explicitly retained motion problems for further review, including cases involving bodies, furniture and held objects.

The useful milestone

This is a significant development step toward combat that belongs to the surrounding institution. It connects who acts, who responds and what follows. It is not a claim that the whole 3D combat system passed final visual acceptance by October 8. The following motion article explains the separate effort to make the visible action match those resolved events.
