ShopFit: prepare a subscription order when the customer needs a different day
A new owner-operated workflow prepares a reviewable draft order while keeping payment and the regular subscription schedule explicit.
Work covered: Oct 8, 2026
A timing exception needs a controlled workflow
A customer may need a subscription order on a different day from the normal schedule. ShopFit’s October 8 work added a way for the owner to prepare that exception from a subscription list instead of reconstructing the order from memory. The action creates a draft that can be reviewed in the store administration interface.
Carry the order details forward
The preparation uses the subscription’s customer, items and quantities, with the applicable subscription price or current discounted price, and the original order’s shipping and address information. Those details still need review, especially when an order contains items with different shipping expectations. The value is a coherent starting point that can be checked before payment.
Do not confuse preparing with charging
The tool’s order action is draft creation. The owner remains responsible for handling payment in the store’s administration and skipping the corresponding scheduled subscription order where required. A second draft for the same month asks for confirmation, helping make duplicate-period handling visible rather than silently producing another order.
Development acceptance and access status
The workflow includes a development-store check against a subscription and tests for the order preparation. At the October 8 checkpoint, additional merchant access approval was still pending. This is an implemented, tested workflow with an access dependency; it is not an announcement that every merchant can use it or that subscriptions are now charged automatically.
