VoiceLab: doors, footsteps and announcements follow the action
Event audio gives the game control over when a door sounds, a foot lands, a call is heard or a room falls quiet.
Work covered: Sep 26, 2026
Timing makes an effect belong to the scene
The September event-audio work supplied sounds for the moments the game resolves: footsteps, fight contact, institutional calls and changes in the room’s activity. Those sounds are separate from continuous ambience. The game can therefore place an effect at the action rather than relying on a loop that happens to contain something similar.
Preserve the approved sound
Door work exposed an important distinction between a technically prepared alternative and the sound the owner had actually approved. The delivered door set was corrected to use that approved source. Rejected alternatives remained development evidence rather than quietly replacing the accepted sound. The game’s opening and closing events can be timed separately even when they use the approved source material.
The room reacts too
The work included the hush around a fight and the return of room activity, as well as television, visitation and weather-related sound. Announcements were prepared for different listening distances. Their acoustic checks do not establish that every listener will perceive the words or distance exactly as intended; that still requires listening review.
An integrated audio milestone
The dated game record describes integration into the relevant Lite and 3D paths, with footsteps belonging to the 3D movement presentation. This milestone is about event timing and contextual sound, not a new public voice-generation service. It gives the game a more coherent relationship between what happens, where it happens and what the player hears.
