VoiceLab builds a soundscape around everyday game activity
Recent audio work adds more room ambience, surface-specific footsteps and event sounds to the developing Bars or Badge world.
Work covered: September 25–October 8, 2026
Give spaces their own sound
The sound collection expanded with room beds, weather and exterior ambience, television loops, visitation activity and home interiors. These serve different purposes: a continuous room tone should support a scene, while an individual event should play when that event occurs. The work distinguishes loops from one-shot effects rather than treating every sound as interchangeable background.
Match sound to movement
Footsteps account for floor, gait and footwear. Doors have separate opening and closing sounds, and the combat catalog gained contact effects. Later work added more household surfaces and vehicle moments, with playback constrained to the corresponding game event. Crowd scheduling and public-address review also received attention.
Listen before calling it finished
The period includes improvements to generation checks and retained listening evidence. Producing an audio file is only one step: it must fit the scene, repeat appropriately and avoid distracting transitions. Some requested sounds and voice work remain pending. These are development assets and workflow improvements, not a claim that the complete game's soundtrack or every voice interaction is finished.
