SiteFit: add search-visibility evidence only when the run requests it

An optional search-data integration adds visibility and backlink context with explicit usage limits and shared calls.

Work covered: Sep 26, 2026

A website review needs context beyond its own pages

SiteFit’s September 26 integration added optional search-visibility information and backlink-authority evidence. For an owner reviewing a site, those findings provide a different perspective from checking its titles, links and markup. They help frame questions about discovery without pretending that a clean page automatically earns traffic.

Make the additional data a deliberate choice

The integration is opt-in for each run. Merely configuring access does not make every audit consume search-data units. It checks whether the available allowance can cover the requested section and applies run-level and monthly limits. That lets the owner decide when the external evidence is worth requesting instead of making it a hidden cost of an ordinary review.

Use shared evidence efficiently

Overview information needed by more than one report section is obtained once and reused. The same supported client was moved into the shared library used by SiteFit and ShopFit, keeping the behavior consistent across the two products. The application still owns its report and the interpretation of the findings.

What this update does not claim

The milestone supplies optional research evidence; it does not buy backlinks, create rankings or guarantee more visitors. The dated deployment record establishes the integration during this period. Search data remains a snapshot to interpret alongside the site’s own content, goals and other evidence, rather than a substitute for that review.
