Policy Lens: restore interactive search and keep private-record requests out
The October 5 repair restores the browser journey and distinguishes public procedural research from requests for an individual’s private records.
Work covered: Oct 5, 2026
Search needs to work in the browser
The October review found a startup problem in the public search interface. Correct backend answers would not help a reader whose page never became interactive, so the repair was verified through the browser as well as through response checks. English search and Spanish excerpts with source links were exercised after the correction.
Do not answer a different question
A second defect involved requests for an individual’s private medical or therapy records. Returning a vaguely related public policy passage could suggest that the request had been answered even though the source collection contained no such private record. The revised handling withholds that unsupported response and uses the existing no-evidence presentation.
Keep legitimate public questions searchable
Questions about public procedures or privacy policies remain a different category. The checks preserved normal research questions and their citations in both languages while rejecting the tested private-record requests. The distinction follows the requested information, not simply the presence of a health-related word in the question.
Verified repair, bounded coverage
The dated record confirms the repaired public journey and controlled English and Spanish cases. No private customer or patient record was used in those tests. This milestone improves usability and the honesty of the answer boundary; it does not expand the source collection or establish that every possible question can be answered. Readers still need the cited source to understand a result’s scope.
