Policy Lens: fresher sources and more precise citations
A verified partial refresh and better source handling make it easier to trace an answer to the document behind it.
Work covered: September 25–October 8, 2026
Refresh only what has been verified
The October 6 update refreshed accepted judicial rules, Attorney General opinions, appellate opinions and public parole records. Collections that did not pass refresh checks retained their previously accepted material and original source dates. A new assembly date does not make every document newly acquired or current.
Make citations easier to check
The work checks opinion identities against their actual documents, excludes introductory material from citable opinion passages, and improves links to relevant definitions and exceptions. English and Spanish query checks cover citations and topic routing, including explicit SOMB references. The public browser search startup issue was also repaired during this period.
Public information stays public
Requests for an individual's private medical or therapy records are withheld; procedural and public-policy questions remain searchable. These changes are live, but coverage is still bounded by the admitted sources. Policy Lens is a research aid: read the cited original, check its date and scope, and do not assume a missing result establishes that a rule or record does not exist.
