HomelessHelper Android: keep navigation words whole at larger text sizes
The phone layout uses additional rows when needed instead of breaking navigation labels into awkward fragments.
Work covered: Sep 28, 2026
Readable text needs room, not just a bigger font
Physical-phone review found that enlarged text could break a navigation label into awkward pieces. The September Android correction allows the navigation to use more rows when needed, keeping words complete. That is a practical improvement for someone who has deliberately increased their text or display size.
Preserve the familiar ordinary layout
The additional room is used where the enlarged setting needs it. The normal-size navigation keeps its familiar arrangement. This avoids making every person use an unnecessarily expanded menu while still treating larger-text use as a supported journey rather than an exception to be worked around.
Check the actual phone behavior
The release work tied the correction to the candidate being reviewed. A desktop preview can miss the combination of phone width, system display scaling and translated labels, so the physical-device finding mattered. The visible word and reachable destination need to agree before the navigation can be called usable.
Production review was still pending
Android 1.1.9 was submitted to production review on September 28 and recorded as awaiting approval. That submission is distinct from the website changes already published and from the earlier public app. This milestone reports the corrected native layout and its review status, without implying that the update or a particular assistance service was already available to every user.
