AYA: family alerts with invitations, preferences and quiet hours

The native family workflow brings membership and notification choices together rather than treating an alert as a one-size-fits-all interruption.

Work covered: Sep 27, 2026

An alert belongs to a relationship and a preference

AYA’s September release completed more of the native family workflow: invitations, member management and preferences sit alongside alert acknowledgment. This gives the family feature an understandable lifecycle, from joining the group to deciding how its alerts should be handled.

Let the person shape interruptions

Quiet hours and thresholds are available as part of the family controls. Optional push notifications remain a choice, and sign-out clears the relevant push state. These details matter because a useful alert is not just a message delivered successfully; it also needs to respect the person’s current participation and notification preferences.

Keep local and shared information distinct

Contacts remain on the device. The release also honors an explicit refusal to share a transcript over a saved sharing preference. Family functionality should not blur those choices simply because several people are connected through the app. The controls make participation and sharing decisions visible within the native journey.

Released with AYA 1.9.14

The Android release was verified publicly available in the United States on September 27. This article describes the family-control milestone within that release, separate from voicemail analysis and saved-result organization. It does not promise that alerts identify every risky interaction; it explains how the person can manage the family workflow and its interruptions more deliberately.
