AYA: clearer account-deletion guidance in three languages

The public page now explains preparation, confirmation and status more fully while preserving the existing deletion workflow.

Work covered: Oct 7, 2026

A form needs enough explanation to be useful

AYA’s October public-page update expanded the account-deletion guidance around the existing form. It explains preparation steps, request confirmation, status and the available alternative privacy-request route. A person can understand the process before deciding to submit instead of meeting a set of fields with little surrounding context.

Keep the same meaning across languages

The guidance was added in English, Spanish and Simplified Chinese using the site’s existing translations. Language-specific page information and alternate links were also corrected. The visible language and the page identity should agree when someone reaches the instructions from a search result or changes language.

Preserve the action being explained

The update kept the existing required fields, confirmation step and account-deletion behavior. Subscription statements were preserved as well. This was a clarification of the public journey, not an account operation performed on behalf of visitors or a change to what the deletion action does.

Live verification and discovery limits

The page update was deployed and checked in the browser. A search-engine live test could access the Spanish page, and an indexing-validation request was accepted. That is not proof of completed indexing or guaranteed search inclusion. The meaningful result is a clearer, working multilingual explanation that remains aligned with the existing form.
