ASL Help: keep product answers tied to the right evidence in both languages
The October 4 update improves follow-up handling, protects meaningful numbers and keeps unsupported product claims out of answers.
Work covered: Oct 4, 2026
A helpful answer needs the right product context
A short follow-up can be ambiguous, especially when someone changes products or languages. The October 4 Help releases improved bounded English and Spanish follow-ups and topic resets. The intent is to retain useful context without carrying an old product assumption into a new question.
Do not “correct” the evidence away
Numbers, identifiers and versions can change the meaning of a question. The update protects those spans during text correction and binds platform, dependency and version answers to available evidence. It also improved accented Spanish matching. A repair to the question should help find the source, not silently turn the request into a different one.
Keep language-specific text distinct
Acceptance exposed a case where equal record identifiers with different text could reuse the wrong language’s ranking result. That was corrected and checked against separate reference answers. This matters beyond translation quality: a Spanish question should retrieve the intended Spanish evidence rather than inherit an English result merely because the identifiers happen to match.
Live, with bounded evidence
The dated release records include public answer checks and actual English and Spanish browser use. They establish the repaired cases and product-answer contracts, not universal accuracy. Some questions still require clarification or a no-evidence answer. The milestone makes that restraint more consistent while preserving useful answers where the documentation supports them.
