Aegis: prepare a new application’s onboarding as one reviewable package

The new preparation and verification tool makes conflicts and unfinished activation steps visible before a new application is enrolled.

Work covered: Oct 8, 2026

Preparation should produce something reviewable

Adding another application to a protection workflow can involve several related decisions. Aegis’s October 8 onboarding tool collects the preparation into a consistent, reviewable package. The aim is to reduce mismatched pieces and make the proposed scope clear before anything is activated.

Stop when the existing state conflicts

The tool checks for conflicts instead of silently treating every requested addition as safe to apply. It also provides a verification path for the resulting application setup. That gives the operator a concrete way to distinguish prepared material from an accepted, working enrollment.

Keep rehearsal separate from activation

The dry-run and verification modes do not activate the candidate. The dated record includes an isolated exercise and a read-only production rehearsal. Those checks support the preparation workflow; they do not mean a new application was automatically added to live protection merely because the package could be generated.

Public scope of the milestone

This article covers the new onboarding capability separately from the live compatibility work. It does not expose the application inventory, policy contents or activation controls. The useful change is a more repeatable review: prepare the related material, identify conflicts, check the intended result and keep the final activation status explicit.
